Guardian Angels: Valentine

+So did it hurt?+

Garrus Vakarian looked up at the ceiling from underneath his console, "Excuse me?"

+You know, pulling the pole outta your ass, did it hurt?+

"Is there a reason you're talking to me Joker, or are you just bored?"

+Actually, I was curious as to what you were getting Shepard for Valentine's Day.+

"Valentine's day? What's that?"They'd never celebrated that during the Saren investigation, nor had she mentioned it before.

+Oh shit, you don't even know what that is do you?+

"That would explain why I asked what it is…"

+Well, pretty much it's a holiday for couples, it's a day to celebrate the person you care about being in your life…Mika is really looking forward to it this year.+

Shit! He lurched forward, banging his head against the edge of the console and swearing violently as he stood, "How much time do I have Joker?"

+It's tomorrow…and the closest civilized planet is five days away.+

"Damn it!"

+Have fun sleepin on the couch man.+

"Thanks for the support." He groaned, banging his fist against the wall, "Spirits, what the hell am I going to do now?!"

"I'm fine with just a kiss; you don't have to do anything special."

He jumped in surprise, finding a faint shimmer glistening over the console before revealing Mika. She lounged across the surface; smirking in a way that made his plates heat up.

"This was a set up wasn't it?" The turian asked once he'd calmed down.

"I figured your reaction would be amusing, and Joker was more than happy to assist."

+What can I say? I'm a helper…+

"The next time you find yourself alone in the CIC, remember this moment human." Garrus growled.

"Hey, don't get snippy with Joker, it was my idea. Plus I had to test the upgrades Kasumi gave me for my Omni Tool's cloaking device." She sat up, swinging her very long legs over the side so they dangled towards the floor, she leaned forward with her chin in her hands, elbows resting atop her knees, "I didn't mean to make you angry."

"I'm not angry…I would have liked to have done something for the holiday though, if it was really that special to you."

"Actually I've never really been one to celebrate it, natural loner and all that. Before I thought of this though, I was just going to tuck this away where only you would see it."

She pulled a red slip of paper out of her belt's pocket, handing it to him with a soft little smile. He noticed her pale face was flushed pink; it made her ice blue eyes almost glow.

He saw it was cut into the shape of a heart, the front reading To my Archangel

He smiled as he opened the card, the inside reading Love you!

"Mika…"

"I know it's sappy, but go easy on me…it's the first year I've ever had a Valentine."

He jerked her into his arms, sighing happily as her lips met his. So lost in the kiss was he that he almost growled when she pulled away.

"Garrus Vakarian…" She murmured, "Were you purring?"

"What? No!"

"Oh yes you were, and it was adorable."

He lifted her back onto the console in one swift move, causing her to yelp in surprise, "Adorable am I?" He whispered huskily, pushing her back as he climbed over her.

"GARRUS!" Tali'Zorah yelled on the other side of the door, "Whatever you did to the Normandy's guns is wreaking havoc on the engines, you need to come down and fix it you bosh'tet!"

Garrus exchanged looks with Mika, giving a turian version of a smirk before beginning the process of unzipping her uniform.

"Can it wait a bit? I'm in the middle of some calibrations…"
